Plumber Cliftleigh

Cliftleigh sits beside Heddon Greta, and Heddon Greta Plumbing Co is the plumber for its estate homes on the same run. Plumbing trouble here tends to start with builder-grade fittings failing young, braided hoses splitting and storm water from big roofs loading young drains. Every job gets a fixed figure first and a 365-day warranty on all work.

Why the Estate Fails the Way It Does

Cliftleigh is a master-planned estate of brick-veneer and rendered family houses on small lots, built on old grazing land since the 2000s, with later stages still going in toward the wetlands. Its plumbing faults are young-house faults, and they come from two directions.

Fittings first

Volume builders put up nearly every house, using budget tapware, braided hoses and push-fit joints. The result is mixers seeping at the base, toilets that run on and pipes rattling in the wall where they were never properly clipped.

Ground second

The estate spreads across low, wet country beside the Testers Hollow floodway, so any trench hits water sooner than you would like. When the wet season lifts the groundwater under the flat clay blocks, soakage slows and trenches stay boggy for days.

Big roofs, small yards

Census figures put separate houses at 94.1 per cent and homes with four or more bedrooms at 76.9 per cent. That means large roofs and wide paving on small blocks, sending storm water fast into drains that are still settling in.

The Work This Page Routes To

Every service below covers the estate. Each hub explains its own work in full:

Plumber feeding a drain camera into a pit at a commercial unit

Blocked drains

Grease films in hard-working family kitchens, fine wash in young lines, and stormwater chokes after a downpour.

Plumber finishing a continuous-flow gas hot water install

Hot water

The units in the first stages are only reaching mid-life, so a repair may be the better answer than a new system, and the hub weighs the two.

Gas fitter checking an oven connection

Gas fitting

Cooktop and BBQ installs in estate kitchens, plus gas leak detection and repair.

Plumber collecting gear from the ute toolbox

Emergency plumbing

Houses of the same age share the same builder-fitted hoses, so they give out around the same time, and a split one floods a laundry quickly.

Two Questions From Estate Households

Do you charge a call-out fee for jobs on the estate?

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours). After-hours bookings cost more, and the extra rate is named before we start. The job price itself is fixed before work begins.

Can you reach us when Testers Hollow floods?

Heavy rain can close the road through the Testers Hollow floodway near Gillieston Heights. When that happens we take another route where one is open, and if the booking has to move we ring you to set a new time.
